General Description of
Mental Health and Substance Abuse Programs
The
Bay Point Mental Health/Substance Abuse Program supports and supplements
the general mental health/substance abuse services provided by Bay Point
Schools. The
general mental health/substance abuse services provided to every student
by Bay Point Schools include: a.
Daily Supportive Counseling from the student’s Primary Counselor b.
Two group experiences 1.
Guided Group Interaction, 5x’s weekly 2.
Townhouse, 7x’s weekly c.
Chemical Awareness class d.
Anger and Behavior Management (which is built into the Bay Point
Program) When
a student is identified to be in need of mental health\substance abuse
services beyond what we generally offer, at the time of admission, through
staff referral or ESE designation, the licensed Mental Health Director
evaluates the student and initiates further treatment services or
appropriate placement. These
services include but are not limited to: a.
Individual psychotherapy b.
Individual substance abuse therapy c.
Substance Abuse Group d.
Other Group Therapy as needed or indicated e.
Family therapy f.
Psychological testing g.
Psychiatric mental status exams, when indicated (provided by our
contracted licensed psychiatrist) h.
Suicide prevention i.
