BAY POINT FALCON PRIDE

Overview

The Falcon’s Club is the student government of Bay Point Schools. This group is responsible for the development of the positive normative culture, the support of positive leadership, and provides an opportunity for a student to gain recognition for pro social behavior. All students are eligible to become a member of this high status club. The membership process into the club begins when students demonstrate positive behavior and leadership. This begins with an observational period. During this period the student is closely observed to see if he is ready for the pledge period. During the pledge period the student will further develop his ability to confront in a positive manner, act as a role model, and help himself and his peers grow in all areas of the school.

Falcon Creed

                     We are the Falcon Club.

Leadership and pride is what we’re about.

Pride is what the club can’t do without.

We are looked up to by many.

                        We started from the bottom,

Now we have risen to the top.

                         We have grown our wings,

This is where leadership comes in.

We will lead until we leave,

                          Everyone will take heed,

                     This is the FALCON CREED.

The Falcon Club Objective

At Bay Point Schools the FALCON’S club is basically staff’s eyes and ears. Because staff can’t be everywhere at one time it is our job to observe and confront anti-social behavior. When we (The Falcons) run across an issue it is our duty as the student government to try and mediate the problem. If we cannot resolve the issue ourselves then we are left with no choice but to go to staff and let them deal with it. Just like staff has a daily log where issues and campus concerns are documented, we also have a log since it is too hard to remember every observation that was made and every issue that came up through out the day. We have our log for documentation. Staff reads our log and makes comparisons with their log. Staff has observed that since we are around the students 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, that we actually catch reads and observations that go unseen at times.
